Run Training

The run section of triathlon is where races are won and lost, targets hit and missed, hearts broken. All because the km's weren't in the legs after the bike. Race commentators at transition zones often below out over the loudspeaker  'its all down to the run!' - who can turn their feet over the fastest? Well that's all well and good for the top guys but for the rest of us what about the jelly leg sensation we feel getting off the bike!

Getting over this is one of the key parts of the run that is often overlooked by beginners in the sport of triathlon. TriLakes Triathlon Club regularly organises brick sessions where a run follows on directly from a spin session in order to train for the transition and the initial phase of the run.

Getting through the distance at whatever pace you choose to is the next part and regular sessions of varying distances are held on Thursdays starting from Andrews. Track sessions on developing techniques are also a feature of the running training and TriLakes is active in organising experienced run coaches to give advice and instruction throughout the year.
